Easter Eggstravaganza
When you think about it, it
takes no more faith to believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead than
it takes to believe that Abraham Lincoln was the sixteenth president of
the United States. It is a documented, historical fact. It wasn't
done in secret. The whole city of Jerusalem and the whole Roman
Empire knew about it. It was news. If CNN had been there,
they would have broadcast it live.
There are at least 15 historical references to Jesus meeting people,
touching people, and talking with people after he had been crucified.
One time he cooked breakfast for some people. One time he talked to
about 500 people after he had risen from the dead. A lot of people saw
him and despite the fact that there are plenty of authenticated,
historical records written during that era, there is no record of anyone
who lived during that time disputing the facts as recorded in the
ancient scrolls from which the Bible was translated.
Because Jesus did rise like He said He would, we can be assured that He
is who He said He was, He has the power He said He had, He lives today
and He keeps the promises He makes. Can you think of a better
reason to celebrate?
One of our festivities in celebration of this miracle and all that it
means to mankind, is our Easter Eggstravaganza. This annual outreach
event includes a picnic, egg hunt, games, prizes, and lots of family
fun. A special effort is made to include physically challenged children
and financially challenged families. Approximately 70-100 children
participate each year. It is an event for the whole family & YOU are
invited to attend. Come celebrate with us! Jesus Lives!!!
And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear
not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where
the Lord lay.
And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead;
and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him:
lo, I have told you.
Matt 28:5-7 (KJV)
Knowing that he which raised up the Lord Jesus shall raise up us also by
Jesus, and shall present us with you.
2 Cor 4:14 (KJV)
